It takes artists not linguists to change the meaning of weathered, beat-up, and rusty to whimsical, beautiful, and romantic. Such is the case when it comes to furniture and decor from the past that proudly wear the marks of time on their countenance. Much like those people who resist fighting the passing of time and avoid searching for that superficial Fountain of Youth, some vintage items and antiques, become more beautiful, more attractive, more desirable with scrapes, chipped off paint, and other imperfections.
As someone once said,(and forgive me if I cannot give credit to the author) "It is the imperfect that makes it perfect."
Patinas, moss, dirt, bents, nicks.....all those wonderful little details of nature and circumstances that are dreaded by some, are blessings for those of us who favor things that show their age and imperfections.
Sure, there are some items that with some polish, paint, sanding or fixing, become more beautiful, but there are many others that retain their beauty by accepting time and the elements of nature and all that they bring along.

Hi Trinidad,
I love everything in this post!
I especially love that chandelier in the first picture.
Hope you are having a great evening.
Take Care,
Maria
Wonderful post Trinidad. I especially love the serving cupboard, the one with the open top. I think these cupboard must be peculiar to Europe as I have never seen one here, but I do see them from time to time in French magazines. Have a lovely Sunday, love Linda x

We usually prefer beauty and perfection: A perfect body, a perfect husband, a perfect life. We are bombarded daily with images of perfection...but who says perfect is right? I think there is a great beauty in the imperfect.
So beautiful!!! Thank you for the inspiration..:)
In love with it all! Such wonderful finds. Would love to have some of them! Thanks!
Karen
