French Evening at Deja Vu:

One of the advantages of having good friends is that you get to meet their good friends and the friends of their good friends and so on.  Certainly, an advantage  of living in Europe and traveling through several countries hunting for antiques and vintage items provides you with opportunities to meet people from all over the world. Johan has that advantage and although he meets many people, he is very selective about who he calls a "friend." Sure, we have many occasional friends and acquaintances, but those people with whom you spend quality time, with whom you can think out loud and have special affinities, those are true friends. Desiree is one of those friends.

Desiree and her husband Paul, who is also a kind and generous soul, have created a beautiful and romantic space that has a very welcoming and homey feel to it.  Their brocante is the kind of place that elicits sighs, smiles, and gasps of wonder as you walk through it.  It's one of those places where you cannot walk out without something in your hands because everything is beautiful.  If you are ever in Oosterhaut you have to stop by and treat yourself to an amazing experience of oohs and aahs, and meet this wonderful pair.

This Thursday June 23rd, Desiree and Paul are hosting a special event in their brocante. It is their annual French Evening and it's intended for anyone who loves brocante, antiques, and vintage style. Come and sip on a good glass of wine, delight your palate with tasty French food, and join the revelry of chansons and pleasant company. It is a wonderful evening for the true bourgondier.
Joining the festivities include guests from Brocante le Tresor from Geertruidenberg and Brocante Oude Liefde from Wouddrichem, plus two amazing musicians.

We are thrilled to be part of this celebration because Melissa and Bob, who are accompanying us through our European shopping tour are celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary that very day and it's also my birthday! I'm 50, am vintage now also!  Not only that, but Desiree and Paul's anniversary is one day before so it's gonna be a multiple celebration on a beautiful French Evening in Holland!
See you there!

It is great to be able to share your special day, with good friends. Especially when you are traveling, and spending time in such an enchanted place. Have a fantastic celebration. Can't wait to hear about your other escapades :)

Oh, I so wish I lived close by! That screen with the blue garland is spectacular. Sigh!

Happy Birthday! I hit that milestone too last year, didn't hurt too badly. In fact, I'm rather proud of it! And remember, fifty is the new forty!

Oh... and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Trinidad! I smiled about you considering your 50th the "Vintage" year. *LOL* I'm at that Season of Life now where everything I remember having as a child and young Adult is now considered either Vintage or an Antique, so I know what you mean... it kinda places us in the category of living relics! *winks* How cool is that!!!!!!!! *Smiles* That must mean we are OOAK and absolutely priceless investments. Well, I've ALWAYS felt that way, but then I'm such a Diva...

Thank you folks for your birthday wishes. I am so looking forward to it. Today we spent the day in Maroilles, which is in the North of France. It was RAINING! But, it did not stop us from shopping. We all looked like drowned rats part of the day but all in all it was a great day. We will post more about it soon. Now we are sitting here sipping on wine and Martin is cooking dinner for us. Johan's place in the country is just lovely! I will post about it also later.
XOXO!
